    Samsung Blue Earth

Samsung Blue EarthIn the last 2 years, more companies have produced gadgets and other electronic products that are environmental friendly than any other time in history. What used to be novelty items that ask for high prices now heed to the consumers’ demands for green gadgets.

Samsung has launched a new mobile phone called Blue Earth, which is the world’s first solar-powered, full-touch mobile phone. The Samsung Blue Earth features a large solar panel on the back of the phone, and it generates enough power to make calls at any time.

It features a unique user interface which is designed to draw attention to energy saving, and it also features a built in pedometer which is designed to show you how much CO2 emissions have been saved from walking rather than using your car.

The Samsung Blue Earth touchscreen phone has a cover made from recycled water bottles, plus it has solar panels at the back so you can charge the photo cells whenever you are out and about.  It also has a digital camera, music player, FM tuner, EDGE, GPRS, and Bluetooth 2.1.  The Samsung Blue Earth is available now in select markets.

“Samsung’s ‘The Blue Earth Dream’ demonstrates our small but meaningful commitments for the future and our environment,” said Mr. JK Shin, Executive Vice President and Head of Mobile Communications Division of Samsung Electronics. “We are committed to achieving the highest eco-status with our customers and business partners by providing the best eco-products and promoting eco-activities.”  (www.samsung.com)
