British inventor James Dyson has come up with numerous ground-breaking household appliances including Dyson’s line of vacuums, their Airblade Hand Dryer and their bladeless room fan, the Dyson Air Multiplier. He’s back with a new smaller invention in the form of a mini vacuum cleaner.
The Dyson City DC26 palm-sized vacuum is the size of a standard sized A4 sheet of paper and weighs less then 8lbs, 7.7 lbs to be exact. The Dyson City DC26, which is one third smaller then an earlier Dyson model, took five years of development time to perfect.
In terms of suctioning power, it’s believed that this vacuum rivals that of the Dyson models. The new device has been made for small apartments and tight living spaces. The only thing holding it back may be price. Although small in size, the Dyson City DC26 retails for $400. It’s already available in Japan, and will be in the UK starting today.
There is no word about availability for the US market. (www.dyson.com)
