The latest beta version of the iPhone OS 4.0 beta 3 is out, and it is showcasing some exciting new functions, such as file sharing with your PC, a redesigned iPod music portal, and the whole multi-tasking feature.
With the file sharing feature, you can plug your iPhone into iTunes, and drag files to your iPhone from your PC. Secondly, the iPod application has been redesigned to include a new set of functions that allow you to control music without having to have the iPod application open.
Thirdly, iPhone 4.0 will allow you to shut down background apps easily without a number of steps. Beta 3 also has a Portrait Lock icon, so your accelerometer doesn’t need to have a mind of its own, performing those pesky unintentional screen flips. You can keep it in portrait mode for good!
Much more will be revealed at release time, but iPhone OS 4.0 is shaping up to be a serious multi-tasker, with not only personal use in mind, but also a business attitude. No doubt Apple has borrowed the best ideas from Android and even Palm, and integrated the most useful advancements into what is assured to be another ground-breaking product- The 4th Gen iPhone.
