The announcement that the Kindle app for iOS has been updated to support audio and video files is great news, especially considering that many competing eReaders already have the capability. So far, there are only nine titles that take advantage of the new A/V capabilities, but more are sure to come.
Kindle was the original, and is now trying to play catch-up with the likes of other mobile eReader apps coming to market. But with Amazon’s resources, clout and cash, I’m sure if the update doesn’t bring Kindle back to the good graces of iPhone, iPad and iTouch owners, the Apple software developing community will continue to motivate the company.
