GM’s free Onstar iPhone and Android apps are now available. If you own a compatible OnStar enabled vehicle, you’ll be able to remotely unlock the doors, start the vehicle, activate the horn and lights to find the vehicle and contact an OnStar advisor for road side assistance or schedule an oil change. Those who purchase the new Chevy Volt can manage the car’s charge status as well as control the charge mode.
Additionally, the OnStar app will provide real time info about the car’s tire pressure, lifetime mileage, remaining oil life and view fuel information, such as miles per gallon and fuel remaining. Finally, the app will allow you to set a meter timer and remind you of where you parked your vehicle.
