Motorola has released a 15-second teaser of its upcoming Super Bowl XLV commercial. It shows a bunch of white hooded, white ear bud zombies drolling in a city’s subway system. One man stands alone and he happens to have a Motorola’s XOOM tablet in hand. The man uses an advanced version of Google Maps only offered on the Android platform to navigate his way top side. He also happens to be reading Orwell’s “1984″.
The commercial is appropriately a dig at Apple in a multitude of ways. In the 80s Apple released a commercial in the vein of Orwell’s “1984″ and Apple, which has long stood for individualism, has quickly become the norm thanks their white ear buds.
