Always been a fan of the Lenovo IBM Thinkpad. They build quality, and the laptop lines seem to be the fastest of the bunch. Now, Lenovo has updated their ThinkPad X220 laptop and the X220 convertible Tablet PC.
The next generation of Core i7 processors is driving this sucker, which boasts Turbo Boost technology for increased speeds when you need it most. Lenovo has also updated the 12.5-inch design with a new and improved self closing hinge that makes room for a 45% larger trackpad, improved speaker and antenna placement. The X220T, the tablet version of the two, receives an improved screen with a 300 cd/m2 brightness and scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass. Select models will have a USB 3.0 port for ultra fast transfer speeds, while each version will include a spill resistant keyboard with drainage holes.
And how can I forget the new battery life. The X220 offers a 15 hour of battery life with a standard 9-cell battery. Add on the new ThinkPad external battery and it jumps to 24 hours. That’s a full day and night folks. The X220T ships with a 4-cell battery that should provide about 6 hours of battery life, but when combined with a 6-cell, it can achieve an additional 10 hour run time.
