Apple will rock their new 4G LTE-enabled iPad 3 tablet later this year according to a china-based research firm. They say that Apple’s iPad 3 will launch before Christmas.
The research firm also says that the Retina Display will be included, albeit much improved in the resolution category…. if that’s possible.
Finally, the firm added that it does not expect Apple to launch a 4G LTE-enabled iPhone this year, something that has us here at the GadgetGUY Column scratching our heads. Why is Apple holding off on this? Granted the iPhone’s performance could still compete with 4G as it is in its 3G state, but we all know that 4G will be the standard, and it will be here in masses quicker than we can say “21 mps”.
I swear it seem like Android is the only OS that really makes performance enhancements on a regular basis for their handsets. webOS, which is an extremely capable OS, still sucks in major handset categories. And the iPhone line just seems like they don’t even care about 4G. We’ll see how this affects the overall handset market.
Personally, while I still think Android is a bit confusing, unorganized, and in many cases, difficult to use, I still think its software, speed and hardware offerings are widening the distance from their competitors and the latest gadgets.
