RxEOB Launches emWellicsSM Mobile Platform Connecting Members to their Health Plans

Healthcare vendor RxEOB has introduced emWellics, a mobile app platform that helps us regular folks access prescription information and manage our pharmaceutical benefits via any smart phone. The platform, which integrates with claims, benefit and and other health care provider services, is targeted toward insurers and pharmacy benefit management firms to offer the content services to their members. Available content includes shopping for prescriptions, tracking allergies and drug utilization, information on side effects, questions to ask during office visits, and directions to pharmacies and doctors offices.

The suite of apps supports all mobile operating systems.  It integrate with your provider, and provides a 2-way communication between you and your health insurance company, so data about yourself and your health plan are always current and in sync.  Essentially, emWellics was developed to help people gain more control over their wellness strategy, and to streamline customer care.

“emWellicsSM allows individuals – including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial members – to understand and manage their pharmaceutical benefits through their smartphones,” says Robert Oscar, R.Ph., CEO of RxEOB.  “This technology enables consumers to comparatively shop for prescriptions, note allergies, track drug utilization data, learn drug side effects, get directions to doctors’ offices, and prepare for visits.  Using a list of pre-loaded visit preparation questions -– from medication use to diagnostic test questions – members will experience more productive appointments with their physicians and can easily communicate notes about their discussions to family members and care givers through their smartphones.”

Reports indicate that more than half of the nation’s adults go online wirelessly, and emWellics is taking advantage of this stat, providing a way for state Medicaid plans to connect with patients and offer incentives when using preferred provider sites, promoting adherence to medication regimens, and encouraging the use of Medicaid-assigned primary care physicians.

“Smartphones are changing the way we live, and the emWellicsSM platform is designed to help our customers take the lead in providing smart messaging within the healthcare marketplace,” Oscar concludes.  “Today, virtually every person – from the chronic allergy sufferer to the mother of three – can easily access and manage health information in the palm of their hands.”

Data security protocols and data encryption technology are built into each customer’s web-based or mobile platform solution. RxEOB is under contract for the emWellicsSM mobile platform with plans and PBMs already serving more than 1 million covered commercial members, with their custom, private-labeled mobile applications set for implementation by January 2012.
