    The Polaroid SC1630 has a 16-Megapixal Zoom Point-and-Shoot Camera

    At CES this week, Polaroid surprised everyone when they revealed a new camera powered by Android. The Polaroid SC1630 Smart Camera is a 3.2-inch device, and it features a huge 16-megapixel camera capable of 3x optical zoom on a 36-108mm lens. When connected to Wi-Fi, users can instantly upload their images to social networking sites and will also even have access to the Android Market.

    The Polaroid SC1630 Smart Camera is a point-and-shoot camera, and runs on a an unspecified version of Android.  It also contains a browser, apps (from Google’s Android Market) and music-playing functions that you might expect in a pocket-sized device, but the rear is dedicated to a 16-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom. Tapping into the company’s instant photography legacy, it can link up via Bluetooth to the GL10 Instant Mobile Printer for quick snapshot printing.

    No specific release date or price has been announced, however Polaroid has said the SC1630 Smart Camera will land sometime this year.
