We’ve already had a glimpse of the external pieces of the next-generation iPhone fully assembled, new pictures of parts from the upcoming iPhone 5 reveal some new information. Along with showing the nano-SIM tray, home button and internal sensors, the images from a French publisher show a metal backing that is said to sit behind the handset’s display.
It’s not known what the protective element’s are, but some have theorized that it may be an electromagnetic shield or a piece to separate the iPhone’s screen from hot internal components. The iPhone 5 is rumored to be equipped with 1GB of RAM, NFC and 4G LTE connectivity, and the Apple is expected to debut the device on September 12th.
