Unconfirmed sources indicate that Apple may be readying a redesign for its iMac and Mac Pro line of computers. Internal files from the company contain information that lets the software know what Mac models can install a second operating system from a USB flash drive. While the list includes the existing MacBook Pro and MacBook Air computers, it also includes two new Mac models that have not been released yet — the sixth-generation Mac Pro and the thirteenth-generation iMac.
Apple Insiders speculate that Apple’s latest desktop computers may nix optical drives and other media drives, confirming that Apple’s position going forward consists of no more disk software or or physical media. Rather, the company sees the Cloud and web as sole access points for all PC and network data and media.
