The search giant Google and Samsung launched a new laptop, which will cost only 249$. The two technology giants want to attract users to laptops which rely on the internet. For this reason, the new ultrabook-style Chromebook laptop relies on the search company’s cloud-based Chrome OS. The newest Chromebook is supposed to attract businesses and users which want to store their data in the cloud rather than on their computer. This also means that the new Chromebook is a laptop only useful when it is connected to the internet. The new model does not have built-in 3G connectivity, but it does offer Wi-Fi connections while the higher-end Samsung 550 model also offers 3G connectivity as an optional extra.
Unlike previous models of chromebook, the new chromebook is based on an ARM, not Intel CPU. With an 11.6-in screen, the new ARM-based models are less than 0.8in thick, weigh about 2.5lb (1.1kg).
Chromebooks have not had a great impact on the PC market since they require constant connectivity to the internet.
