At long last a former titan of the competitive shoe industry has re-emerged with a product to stake it’s name to with the Wilson Rush Pro HC Tennis Shoes has been rated quite positively with reviewers.
The women’s version is super comfortable with the front shoe cushioning. The arch provides quite a snug fit when extending for both forehand, backhand and out-wide shots. There seems to be a focus on cushioning around the toes for those who tend to drag their feet. This is well-suited for hard-court play. When returning serves, the elevated design in the front makes it easy to handle split step drop-shot chasing. After around 40 hours of play, a remarkable absence of wear-and-tear was noticed at the point of impact in the front. However the heel experienced some noticeable degradation.
While both shoes share most of the design elements, there are a number of differences. The men’s show has extra support in the front that serves well when playing on hard-courts. It is important to make a distinction between hard-court use and clay-court use because the triangular pattern on the sole doesn’t translate well to clay. The arches are well supported quite well and are seemingly built for agile movements. The show after extended play shows a very good wear-profile on the front and heel. It seems best suited for the weekend enthusiast or a someone looking for light competition who is looking for a good degree of durability.
There could be a little more ventilation for the shows in the toe area and some may be a bit put off by the sharp transition from blue in the forefoot to white for the rest of the shoe. The tongue is padded and the laces are not too long enabling you to tie them up quickly. Overall however Wilson has gained some traction with this model.
