On the road with a laptop is always a chore. You tend to hear ‘please turn off the device sir’ and ‘please open your laptop sir’ or something along those lines. It’s always a pleasure if there is a dedicated pocket that makes transportation of your notebook a non-issue. That is precisely what the folks at Incase had in mind when designing the Incase EO Hardshell Roller suitcase.
Basically a rolling bag that’s built for quick turnaround business trips and frequent fliers who always have a gadget or two handy. With it’s basic carry on size, it can go with you wherever you go and it also has a polycarbonate hardshell front panel for your laptop and your tablet. It’s not particularly bulky, features a handle that telescopes and bright imminently noticeable green wheels. It has expandable compartments so you can take extra stuff with you and a handle for hefting it into overhead storage.
For the reason that it is well-designed, it gets through airport security quite easily. There are however some drawbacks. There is also little in the way of cushion in between the pockets. The handle rails inside of the bag take up space that could theoretically be used for something else. Still, the wheels take very well to streets and pavement without all the rollicking you sometimes get with rollers.
While it’s not your main suitcase, this is still a fine carry on with proper spacing for your gadgets. You don’t want to check this bag, but that’s not it’s intent to begin with. With dimensions of 20.7 x 13.8 x8.7 inches, and a price tag of $289 and it’s weather resistant exterior, we rate it a buy.
