Google is at it again, trying to re-enter your living room with their successor to Google TV, the Nexus Player. It’s a hockey puck shaped device clad in all black, and relatively simple looking. It also includes a remote with voice activation, and…get this…a game controller, which will allow you to play Android games on your TV.
Google Nexus Player Syncs with your Apps
Like the Chromecast, you’ll be able to push media from your handset or tablet to the device. It will also sync across all of your apps, provided of course they’re available. This will include Netflix, Google’s Play Store and more.
Google Nexus Player has Integrated Mic
The remote has an integrated mic, and much like your Android handset, you can ask the Nexus Player a question, and presumably it will search the web, or complete an action within the Android ecosystem to complete the action.
Google Nexus Player Has a Game Controller
Another cool feature is the optional game controller for the Nexus Player. For an additional $40, the Nexus Gamepad offers wireless gaming of hopefully a large number of Android games. Android already has 1000s of games in the Android Play store.
