We all know just how powerful social media can be. Social media is mainly powerful because with it, anyone has the ability to reach a huge number of people, anywhere around the globe. Social media is such a powerful tool when used in the right hands. Just like many things, depending how you use it, it can be either good or bad, not just for yourself but for society as well.
So far, no one has come to understand how a Popeyes Promotes Mobile App chicken sandwich turned into the latest online hype/viral sensation. However, after about two weeks of intensive social media sharing that indirectly promoted their Chicken Sandwich, Popeyes announced that “The Sandwich” (as the American multinational chain referred to it) is officially sold out… everywhere. The company posted an announcement on Twitter, during this Tuesday (August 27, 2019), saying that the “extraordinary demand” for the new Chicken Sandwich caused it to be sold out in just two weeks after August 12; the day that the viral sandwich made its nationwide debut.
While Popeyes Louisiana Popeyes Promotes Mobile App Kitchen added the chicken sandwich to their menu just two weeks ago, “The Sandwich” instantly became a highly coveted menu item; all thanks to the power of social media. This led to long lines of impatient customers that rushed to the nearest Popeyes just to get a taste of the hyped sandwich. The company was even going “wing-to-wing” with Chick-Fil-A over who had the best chicken sandwich.
But don’t worry. Even if you weren’t part of the Chicken Sandwich craze, waiting long-hours in a line just to sink your teeth into Popeyes’ brioche bun with a fried chicken fillet, you’ll still have a chance to taste it. While Popeyes’s Chicken Sandwich might be officially sold out, keep in mind that this is only temporary. By using Popeyes Mobile app (for Android and iOS), customers will be able to apply to be notified whenever the sandwich is back in stock.
While Popeyes has been relatively late to the Mobile App game, only now looking to add features like delivery or mobile ordering, maybe all this social media frenzy will help the company invest some extra time into it.
All we can do is hope that the push notifications will give Popeyes’ employees a break from crazed fans while also making it easier for customers (mobile ordering) to get one of these famous Chicken Sandwiches, preferably without having to stand in a long line.
