BedJet 3 Dual Zone Climate Comfort System for Couples (Full Review)

Every couple will eventually experience the classic “sheet-pulling” that comes with sleeping together. Sometimes one partner might be colder than the other during sleep and will eventually pull – and continuously keep pulling – the bed sheets to his/her side of the bed until their body is comfortably fully wrapped in sheets. This might leave the other person with “not-so-much” bed sheet to cover himself/herself, and the same goes for couple arguments over a bedroom’s thermostat. Using an ingenious solution like the BedJet 3 Dual Zone Climate Comfort System for Couples can help couples avoid both situations all together.

“The BedJet 3 Dual Zone Comfort System can easily and simultaneously turn half the bed as cold as Alaska and the other half as warm as Hawaii.”

Basically, the BedJet 3 works like a dual rapid bed-cooling and -heating system that promotes a peaceful night of sleep at a comfortable temperature during the entire year for both you and your partner.

Thanks to the system’s configurable dual temperature zones both you and your partner can independently adjust each side of the bed (yours and his/her) with the temperatures that both of you want on each side, or ultimately share the system and use it as a single cooling/heating zone. The system also integrates a patented super soft Cloud Sheet that lays on top of you, coming equipped with dual zone air flow chambers, which means that there’s absolutely nothing separating you from your partner. This allows both partners in a couple to feel fresh and/or cold and still be able to interact with each other.

The Bedjet 3 Dual Zone Climate Comfort Sleeping System works extremely well for couples, and comes packed with a ton of useful features. Using this system neither partner has to fight for the bed sheets any longer or compromise on the air conditioning or heating settings. Furthermore, couples always have complete control over the system’s temperature for both sides of the bed simultaneously by using either one or two of the included remote controls or ultimately, the Smartphone App.

Let’s take a detailed look at the Bedjet 3 Dual Sleeping System, see how it’s designed and check every single one of its cool features.

    DESIGN & SPECS

First of all, the new BedJet 3 system is based on its predecessor, the previous Bedjet System, called the BedJet V2. Just like its predecessors, this newer model went through a crowdfunding campaign via Kickstarter.

The BedJet 3 is the company’s newest and most “feature rich” BedJet system, packing more features than the previous model. Nonetheless, the BedJet 3 still offers the same powerful cooling and warming as the older V2 model.

The main unit features a futuristic design that somewhat resembles a Star Wars tech-enabled unit. Basically, it’s a futuristic-looking white box that can easily blend in with the rest of your furniture, no matter what your decor taste is based on.

Nonetheless, that won’t really matter, as the unit was designed to be tucked out of sight. A few minor tweaks to the system’s accessories have also been made, including some padding that’s been added to the base unit that slides under your mattress, allowing it to hold the air nozzle and hose in place.

Furthermore, this newer system (the BedJet 3) was designed into a 30% smaller and sleeker package, meaning it will feat underneath any bed with 6″ space, and the side rail clearance only needs to be 3.5″ – this also includes/works with adjustable beds.

In case you can’t tuck the base unit underneath your bed (6″ inches of clearance needed), know that you’ll need to have it standing next to your bed.

The BedJet 3 offers excellent heating for the winter, with its minimum and maximum operating temperatures ranging from 66° to 104° F (18°C to 40°C). You can have the unit’s generated cold/hot air to be blown directly onto your body or between your top sheet and comforter.

Minimum and Maximum Operating Temperatures range from 66° to 104° F (18°C to 40°C)

Users can also select the unit’s fan speed, starting from as little as 5% and going all the way up to 100% speed. This causes the unit to produce a fan sound on higher fan speed settings.

Still, the fan’s motor is still silent enough to allow most people to easily fall asleep and have a comfortable night of uninterrupted sleep. You should only wake up if you have a very light sleep or if you have the unit’s fan working at 100% all night while disliking its higher operating sound. For most people, that should not be a problem, but after playing with the system a bit, you’ll realize what maximum fan’s speed works best for you.

The included dual zone Cloud Sheet lets you have the cooling on just one side of the bed. Having a single zone means the entire bed shares the refreshing breeze of coolness, which ultimately allows couples that feel the same need of heating/cooling to share the system as a single cooling/heating zone.

By using the additional BedJet Cloud Sheet, which has a hollow cavity to improve the spread of cool air, users can decide to not have the system blowing cold/hot air directly onto their feet.

Keep in mind that this is a luxury product that will stretch some people’s budget. Nevertheless, the BedJet 3 can provide couples with both excellent cooling and heating during each night of sleep, which ultimately allows both partners to have a better rest at the end of each day.

    EASY SET UP / INSTALLATION

The BedJet 3 Dual Zone Climate Comfort System for Couples is extremely easy to set up / install, and should only take you around 10~15 minutes to unbox it, set it up, and turn on both units.

Keeping the main unit under your bed – or ultimately in front of the bed’s feet – will allow you to avoid kicking it during blurry-eyed bathroom trips in the night for whenever you wake up tired and need a quick bathroom break before going back to sleep.

Essentially, you have a base unit that sits either under your bed, right at the bed’s feet, or ultimately at its side if there are less than 6″ inches of clearance under your bed.

An air hose is attached to the main unit, coming out of it and stretching up to the foot of your mattress, and will then blow cool/hot air out of an elegantly designed nozzle.

    CONNECTIVITY

After the system is fully assembled, you’ll just have to download the unit’s latest firmware, which is its Smartphone Companion App (discussed at the end of the article). After that, you’ll just have to use your smartphone to connect the unit to your router’s 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band and you’re all done.

In case that you’re not particularly tech-savvy, and end up wondering why the unit is not connecting to your Wi-Fi network, it might be because you’re using your router’s 5 GHz band.

To fix that, all you need to do is search for your Wi-Fi again and connect to your home router’s second band – which should most likely be the 2.4 GHz band, if the first one you selected didn’t work.

    REMOTE CONTROL

The BedJet 3 comes upgraded with the most advanced color screen remote control in the sleep industry, which also features SmartHome connectivity.

Keep in mind that these SmartHome features will be coming via a firmware update, which will be released during winter 2020.

While the BedJet 2’s remote looked kinda outdated, the BedJet 3’s included advanced wireless remote control is positively postmodern, featuring a color LCD screen and back-lit keys/buttons.

By using the included pair of remote controls, each partner in the couple can use his/her personal remote control to program the system’s temperature changes throughout the night, which will only affect their side if the system is assembled as a Dual Zone comfort system.

Contrarily, only one remote control will be needed if a couple uses the system as a Single Zone comfort system.

    WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

Inside each BedJet 3 Dual Zone Climate Comfort System for Couples package users will find: two (x2) included BedJet 3 units with assembly attachments for beds, two (x2) color screen remote controls (user by each partner to control each of their own BedJet 3 unit), as well as one included Dual Zone Cloud Sheet.

    FEATURES

Use it as a Dual Zone or as a Single Zone Comfort System

The BedJet 3 allows a range of different setups. If you sleep alone, it’s simple – you just need one unit, with or without a Cloud Sheet.

By getting the BedJet 3 Dual Zone Climate Comfort System for Couples, couples can use its included dual zone Cloud Sheet to have the cooling/heating on just one side of the bed, while having the other side with a different setting, or ultimately, off.

Use it as a Dual Zone or as a Single Zone Comfort System
Use it as a Dual Zone or as a Single Zone Comfort System

When sharing a bed, couples have a total of three different options:

    • 2 people, 1 BedJet, 1 Zone.If you and your partner never disagree on temperature, both of you can share a single unit, which can be used with your normal bedding sheets, or ultimately, with a single zone Cloud Sheet for better air flow.Having a single zone means the entire bed shares the refreshing breeze of coolness, which ultimately allows couples that feel the same need of heating/cooling to share the system as a single cooling/heating zone.
    • 2 people, 1 BedJet, 2 zones (One Conditioned, One at Room Temp). If one member of the couple is happy with the room temperature, couples only really need to use one BedJet unit. However, this will work best while using the dual zone Cloud Sheet, which ultimately allows the person using the unit to keep the air to his/her zone/side of the bed.
    • 2 people, 2 BedJets, 2 zones. In this case, both members of a couple get a separate remote control to control their own BedJet on their side of the bed. This ultimately allows one person to have cool air while the other has warm air.

    Cooling Mode

The BedJet Cooling Mode works as an awesome relief for stuffy bedrooms, hot sleepers, night sweats and hot flashes.

When using its Cooling Mode, the unit powerfully ventilates your bed, using the room temperature air to wick out body heat and body moisture nearly instantly, which is something that is felt within as little as 10 seconds.

Keep in mind that the BedJet is not an air conditioner, and also will not work as a substitute for zero air conditioning in extreme heat (80 degree+) bedrooms. To have the best possible cooling, your bedroom’s temperature will always need to be below 79 degrees.

    Night Sweat Management Mode

The BedJet 3 also features a Night Sweat Management Mode, which is proven to reduce body moisture, thus keeping you dry and comfortable during every sleeping session.

    Heating Mode

The BedJet 3 also features a powerful warming mode that makes cold feet a thing of the past.

This allows you to never have to bundle up with heavy pajamas for chilly winter beds, ultimately giving your bedding that toasty hot sauna feeling in mere seconds.

The BedJet 3 features a total of 4 different Heating Options:

    • Normal Heat Mode – Provides strong warming for up to 4 hours, from 66° to 104° F (18° to 40° C).
    • Turbo Heat Mode – This mode offers a maximum 10-minute pre-warming burst of the highest heat, having the unit work at 109° F (43° C).
    • Extended Heat Mode – This mode offers moderate warming for up to 12 hours, from 72° to 92° F (22° to 33 C).
    • Dry Mode: Lastly, when set to Dry Mode, the unit works at a middle temperature, which helps to keep night sweats at bay, having the main unit working up to 92° F (31° C).

SMARTPHONE COMPANION APP – BedJet App

The Smartphone Companion App, called the BedJet App, is available for free for both iOS and Android devices, and is initially used as the system’s Wi-Fi Setup App.

By using the BedJet App, both couple members can also easily control their Bedjet 3 Dual Zone Climate Comfort Sleeping System.

The App allows you to control the unit’s Fan Speed (5%-100%), the unit’s Air Temperature, as well as select with mode you want the unit running on.

Users can easily save their own favorite pre-sets which can then be instantly activated with a single tap in future uses, instead of having to reprogram the unit via the App’s settings menu every single time.

    FINAL THOUGHTS

The Bedjet 3 Dual Zone Climate Comfort Sleeping System is great for couples, as its featured split Temperature Modes allow one person to cool his/her side of the bed, while his/her partner’s side can stay warm all night long.

This means that neither partner has to compromise on the air conditioning or heating settings, while also giving the couple complete control over the temperature on both sides of the bed simultaneously.
