Running on a regular basis is a very healthy form of aerobic exercise, as it not only allows you to burn a lot of calories (i.e. more calories than most other physical activities), but can also help to increase your muscle strength, reduce joint problems, lower your blood pressure, and improve your overall fitness level. Nevertheless, when running in the dark, the first thing you’ll notice is the lack of light, which essentially causes low-visibility issues, both for yourself and for others. Now, if you’re someone who likes to go for a jog or run either at dawn or at night, then it’s important that you wear both reflective gear and also some illuminated clothing with built-in presence lights, as that can help drivers and cyclists to be aware of your presence. By wearing high-visibility gear when running in low-light conditions, you can ensure that you stay visible at all times so that your presence is known by those around you, ultimately allowing you to be safe from anyone on the road passing by you. For keep your presence known, consider wearing something like the Freehands Light Up Running Gloves.
The Freehands Light Up Running Gloves are battery-illuminated gloves designed for running in low-light conditions, coming equipped with a built-in presence LED light that feature 3 different finger-touch light settings.
By simply pressing the built-in Power Button at the back-side of each glove, users can swap the Light Settings for their Light Up Running Gloves, which can be set between Rapid Blinking, Slow Blinking, and Steady Light (always-on).
Now, let’s have a more detailed look at these sleek battery-power illuminated running gloves and see how they’re built, and also talk a little about exactly how they’re designed to work.
DESIGN
Starting with their sizing, the Freehands Light Up Running Gloves are available in three (x3) different Unisex sizing options: Small/Medium (great for people with smaller hands), Medium/Large (perfect for people with average-size hands), and Large/XL (ideal for people with larger hands, mainly men). For our review unit, we went with the Medium/Large model.
When it comes to their design, these illuminated running gloves only come in one color, and that’s flat Black. Still, that’s probably the better color choice to go with when it comes to sports equipment, as Black is probably the easiest color to match with any other color that may be part of your running gear.
Regarding their construction, it’s worth noting that the inner side of the Freehands Light Up Running Gloves is made from a high-quality stretch fabric, which greatly helps to ensure a tight fit.
Not only that, but the glove’s palms also feature an Anti-Slip Silicone Padding that ultimately makes it easier for you to grab your smartphone or interact with your smartwatch while you’re running.
On top of that, the outer back-side of these illuminated running gloves is also somewhat padded, which makes them quite comfortable and reasonably warm to wear (they’re not too hot, so no worries about that).
Additionally, integrated around each glove’s wrist, there’s also a built-in Clip Cuff that keeps the gloves’ wrist opening neatly closed in order to fully keep out the cold air, which is a great little feature to have when running on really cold days.
Last but not least, at the back-side of each glove, there’s also a built-in presence LED light that can be set in to work in one of 3 different finger-touch light settings, which are: Rapid Blinking, Slow Blinking, and Steady Light (always-on).
The gloves’ built-in presence LED can come in one of two different colors: White Light or Red Light.
INTERFACE / BUILT-IN CONTROLS
Finally, each glove also comes equipped with a built-in Power Button at their back-side, which is what’s used for controlling the 3 different finger-touch light settings for the gloves’ built-in presence LED light.
By pressing the gloves’ Power Button once, users can turn the gloves’ Presence Light from Off to its first Light Mode, which is Rapid Blinking.
Pressing the gloves’ Power Button again will change the status of their Presence Light to their second Light Mode, which is a Slow Blinking.
Then, pressing the gloves’ Power Button once again will allow users to enable the gloves’ third Light Mode, which is Steady Light (always-on).
Finally, whenever you’re looking to turn the gloves’ Presence Light Off (i.e. after a run), all you have to do is to press the gloves’ Power Button once more.
Embedded below you can find the company’s official video on how to operate the different Light Modes for the Freehands Light Up Running Gloves’s built-in Presence Light:
BATTERY & BATTERY LIFE
For powering up their built-in presence LED light, the Freehands Light Up Running Gloves come equipped with a set of two (x2) CR2016 batteries (meaning 2 batteries on each glove) that are capable of providing you with countless hours of illumination.
It’s also worth mentioning that the gloves’ dedicated batteries can be replaced when necessary, and this can be done by simply opening each gloves’ battery case (which comes very thoroughly built into their fabric).
On a final note, keep in mind that you’re required to remove the plastic tab that comes covering the glove’s batteries before wearing them during your night jogs / runs.
