If you’re someone that’s into target practice and shooting-training overall, then a BB gun can prove to be a much better option (and starting point) than a real/standard firearm. Using an airsoft gun is one option, but a BB guns can make for great starting-guns for anyone that has a beginner’s interest in firearms. Now, in comparison to real firearms, .177 caliber BB guns can offer quite a few distinct advantages over real guns, with the main favorable factors being the low cost of ammunition, how quiet they are, and also the relative ease of getting your hands on one. Last but not least, most modern BB guns are also designed to look realistic, meaning that their aesthetics are made to be as similar as possible to the real firearm models that they’re based on, unlike realistic toy guns. So, whether you’re looking for a starting gun that’s reliable and easy to operate for target practice and shooting-training, or even if you’re just looking for a firearm decoration piece for your home office or the center of your living room, then the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine is a great choice to go with.

Now, let’s have a more detailed look at it and check out everything that this blowback CO2-powered .177 caliber semi-automatic BB repeater rifle has to offer you.
DESIGN & SPECS
Starting with the rifle’s size, and as said before, the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine is designed as an authentic replica of the legendary M1 Carbine.
On that note, know that the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine measures exactly 35.8 inches long (which is quite close to the original M1 Carbine’s 35.58″ length), with the gun featuring a gorgeous-looking smooth-bore barrel that measures exactly 17.25 inches in length (also quite close to the original military model’s 18-inch rifled barrel length).
It’s also worth mentioning that this semi-automatic BB repeater rifle comes very close to the original M1 Carbine in weight, with the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine weighing between 5.5 lbs. (without its magazine) to 5.7 lbs., which is just 9.6 shy of the 4.9 lbs. weight of the original M1 Carbine.
Regarding its design, note that this CO2-powered semi-automatic BB repeater rifle was designed with extreme historic-accuracy in mind in order to have it look as a fairly realistic replica of the U.S.’ M1 Carbine. As such, it also has the look of the real model that was used during the U.S. Military service from WWII through the 1970s.
Now, it’s important to note that there are two different models available, with the more basic-version coming with a slightly less realistic Synthetic Faux Wood-Look Stock, while the more premium-version comes equipped with a Real Hardwood Stock. For our review unit, we were provided with the Real Hardwood Stock model (i.e. the premium-version of the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine – which will cost you just a bit more).
Not only that, but this high-powered rifle also comes bearing the Springfield Armory Crossed Cannons Logo right at the center of its top-side, which comes stamped just in front of its iron sight.
In terms of handling the gun, note that this CO2-powered semi-automatic BB repeater rifle is designed for universal use, as it offers its users an ambidextrous grip.
Then, when it comes to the rifle’s construction, it’s also worth mentioning that the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine is made from high-quality materials, which ultimately gives it a very, very durable construction overall.
Moving on to the gun’s main components and functionalities. Still speaking in terms of the rifle’s overall realism, it’s worth noting that the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine is designed to not only look, but more importantly, to also feel just like the real M1 Carbine.
That’s because this semi-automatic BB repeater rifle was designed to work based on a gas-powered recoil system, which is exactly what ultimately makes it work like a blowback CO2-powered .177 caliber semi-automatic BB repeater rifle.
This unique gas-powered recoil system essentially gives this semi-automatic BB repeater rifle some added realism, which consequently, ultimately brings users the most authentic shooting experience possible. On a personal side note, I’m quite pleased to say that this CO2-powered BB repeater rifle has a really, really great blowback action.
To be more specific, this blowback CO2-powered semi-automatic BB repeater rifle operates off of a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge that’s held in a 15-round drop-free all-metal gun magazine clip, which can hold up to 15 rounds of .177-caliber BBs in its chamber, while giving the gun the capability of shooting exactly 40 shots per CO2 cartridge.
Furthermore, the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine also features a full-metal action operation.
As such, at the top-back-side of the gun, we have a sliding breech cover, which, once triggered-open, exposes the gun’s loading port during its cocking cycle.
Not only that, but this blowback CO2-powered semi-automatic BB repeater rifle also comes equipped with a Windage-adjustable rear sight (adjustable for windage only, and not elevation, so keep that in mind) that’s accurately integrated at the back-side of the gun, just like the original M1 Carbine model on which this BB rifle is based on also had.
Finally, the gun also comes equipped with a two-stage trigger that gives users a crisp and truly authentic shooting experience, with each shot reaching bullet-speeds that can go up to 425 ft. per/second for each shot taken.
Last but not least, not that the rifle’s two-stage trigger also integrates a very simple built-in Manual Safety that’s extremely intuitive to operate, with (F) standing for “Fire” Mode and (S) standing for “Safety” Mode.
