Now, let’s have a more detailed look at the BALL Watch Engineer III Pioneer and check out everything that this newly-released third-generation exploration watch has to offer you.
DESIGN & SPECS
Starting with the watch’s size, the BALL Watch Engineer III Pioneer comes at a fairly standard size for an exploration watch, with its case measuring exactly 40mm in diameter and 12.45mm thick / tall. The watch’s case is not too bulky in size, nor is it too heavy, so you can expect to be able to get a very comfortable fit for your wrist.
At the top-end and bottom-end of the watch, we have two super-durable sets of watch lugs (also commonly known as watch’s “horns”), which feature an exact horizontal spacing of 20mm from one lug to another, and an exact vertical spacing of 46.6mm between the watch’s top and bottom sets of watch lugs.
When it comes to this watch’s construction, know that the Engineer III Pioneer features a super-durable construction, as its case is entirely built out of a high-grade 904L Stainless Steel, which ultimately gives the watch a whopping 5,000Gs shock-resistance, along with an extreme anti-magnetic protection up to 80,000 A/m against any magnetic fields that it comes in proximity with.
At the back-side of the watch’s case, there’s a screw-on embossed 904L Stainless Steel case-back that’s beautifully stamped with BALL Watch’s official Logo, for which its case-back is also just as durable as the watch’s front-side.
On top of its super-durable 904L Stainless Steel construction, the BALL Watch Engineer III Pioneer also features a high-quality screwed-in crown (also made of high-grade 904L Stainless Steel) that smoothly “pops out” from its Stainless Steel Case, while also coming neatly integrated with small little metallic cogs that make it easy to hold whenever you require to use it to regulate the watch’s hands (meaning its different time dials).
Moreover, this gorgeous and ultra-durable exploration watch also comes built with a sturdy Stainless Steel bracelet that’s integrated with a folding clasp buckle, which allows the watch’s bracelet to close smoothly and stay safely and properly closed at all times.
Regarding its design, the BALL Watch Engineer III Pioneer features a unique, minimalist, extremely stylish and ultra-modern design. For our review unit, we received the Black Dial color-model (but there’s also a beautiful Dark Blue Dial color-model available).
While the watch’s 904L Stainless Steel construction gives it a gorgeous silver body that comes polished with a luxurious glossy finish, the watch’s face / dial within the interior of its Stainless Steel Bezel comes in a subtle flat Black color (or Dark Blue if you choose the other color-model) that ultimately gives the watch as a whole a very professional-look, especially with the contrast provided by its Stainless Steel body.
In addition, the watch’s bezel also integrates a high-grade glass cover made of a high-quality Sapphire Crystal that also comes coated with a layer of anti-reflective coating, thus making it quite easy for you to read the time from this unique exploration watch at any time of the day, no matter if you’re under direct sunlight (as its anti-reflective coating reflects away any sunlight) or even under low-light or pitch-black conditions at nighttime.
What’s more is that the watch’s super-durable Stainless Steel construction is also rated to be Water-Resistant up to 330 ft. / 100m depth underwater.
In terms of its time-tracking capabilities, as said before, the BALL Watch Engineer III Pioneer is powered by BALL’s Automatic Calibre BALL RR1103-C Hand & Date Movement, which was officially Chronometer-certified by COSC (Contrôle officiel suisse des Chronomètres), the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute. Thanks to its high-end Automatic Calibre BALL RR1103-C Hand & Date Movement, this exploration watch never needs a battery.
It’s also worth noting that the watch’s Dial also integrates large bold numeric markers at the 12, 6 and 9 o’clock positions (while the 3 o’clock position is discreetly occupied by the watch’s Date Window), which makes reading time from the watch’s dial fairly easy, even with just a quick glance.
Last but not least, the Engineer III Pioneer also boasts an impressive self-powered illumination technology that’s solely powered by 28 individual high-grade H3 micro tritium gas tubes, which are separately integrated on all of its watch hands (including hours, minutes, and seconds hands) as well as on its dial that greatly glow in low-light conditions with bright green and orange light colors, ultimately providing users with an outstanding illumination for the watch’s face that makes its entire dial perfectly legible during nighttime use.
