In today’s tech-driven world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been adopted at a worldwide scale as a groundbreaking technology that is transforming numerous modern industries. Over the last few years, Artificial Intelligence has become an indispensable tool for both small businesses and large corporations seeking for innovative solutions to address their most pressing issues. Operational challenges such as data overload and real-time insights as well as complex decision-making processes like resource allocation tasks are all common recurring problems which can hinder efficiency, delay or even cease progress, and ultimately compromise the overall success of an organization. Nevertheless, the integration of AI in different industries can greatly help businesses to mitigate or even overcome these challenges, thus making it easier to streamline their operations. In fact, there are a lot of practical applications for utilizing Artificial Intelligence across several industries. This is exactly what France-based company AI Robotics identified, who recently unveiled its new revolutionary lineup of AI-powered service robots at CES 2024, consisting of five different AI-driven robotic solutions for various industries, including the Ugo, Stellar, Djeffrey, Robby and Foxee robots, each designed to perform a proprietary set of tasks within their specified fields, respectively including hospitality, home use, healthcare and logistics industries.
WHO IS AI ROBOTICS?
AI Robotics is a 3-year old pioneering company in the field of service robotics based in Marseille, France that specializes in designing and developing cutting-edge AI-powered robots for helping humans within a wide range of industries, including restaurants and hotels, home-use, hospitals, as well as supermarkets, manufacturing and logistics, amongst many others. Their robots are thoroughly designed to automate certain tasks, boost productivity, reduce labor costs and offer innovative solutions to optimize work processes.
The company was officially launched in June 2023, at GITEX in Africa, where they showcased their first AI-powered service robot prototype, the Ugo, which was particularly designed for restaurant environments.
Following their successful product launch in 2023 at GITEX in Africa, the company has recently attended CES 2024, where they showcased its new revolutionary lineup of five AI-powered service robots, including the Ugo for the restaurant, hotel and retail industries; the Djeffrey home service “butler” robot that adaptively performs various household functions; the Stellar, for use primarily in home and personal care service fields; the Robby, for deployment in healthcare and medical fields and the Foxee for inventory and storage control.
Over the years, AI Robotics has earned a solid reputation as an industry leader in the service robotics industry thanks to its expertise and commitment to innovation. Their vision is based on the belief that technology, especially robotics, can be a powerful asset for humanity across the globe.
During CES 2024, we had the pleasure of interviewing AI Robotics’ Technical Director, Jason Poiblaud, who mentioned that: “The company’s main goal with its AI-driven robotic solutions is to provide assistance and companionship to humans within their respective fields in order to create a more efficient and safer environment.”
Jason added by saying that “AI Robotics’ end-goal with its AI-powered robots is to change the way people and businesses around the world can work together with robots by integrating them into their daily lives, not with the focus of replacing people in their jobs, but actually to assist and facilitate the way they work.”
Jason also noted that “The company wants its AI-driven robots to look specifically like robots, not human-like robots, because, as mentioned before, they don’t want their robots to replace people, but instead assist them in their daily lives.”
WHAT IS AI ROBOTICS’ NEW LINEUP OF AI-POWERED SERVICE ROBOTS?
AI Robotics’ new lineup of AI-powered service robots comprises five different AI-driven robotic solutions for various industries, including the Ugo, Stellar, Djeffrey, Robby and Foxee robots, each designed to perform a proprietary set of tasks within their specified fields, respectively including hospitality, home use, healthcare and logistics industries.
All of AI Robotics’ different AI-driven robots utilize the same patented navigation system for their smart navigation within their respective environments (meaning their rolling base is the same for all 5 models), while each robot model has a different upper body frame that’s specifically designed for their corresponding use-cases.
It’s also worth noting that the company develops both the software as well as the hardware for all of its AI-driven robots, which respectively include the human-machine interactions and the AI technology behind it, along with the electrical circuitry that connects each robot’s base (i.e. their navigation system) together with their upper body frame.
Here are the main benefits that each of AI Robotics’ AI-driven robots have to offer:
The Ugo – The Ugo is an intelligent service robot designed to meet the needs of the hospitality sector (including restaurants and hotels) and the retail sector with a focus on facilitating and enhancing customer experience, expansion of sales, optimizing overall operational efficiency and reduction of labor costs.
The Stellar – Designed primarily for domestic use in both the service industry and at home, Stellar is an intelligent domestic helper robot which combines artificial intelligence, advanced sensors, connectivity, autonomy and safety to provide a versatile and reliable domestic companion, handling daily tasks and creating a connected home environment while also improving comfort and security.
The Djeffrey – Designed with a focus in simplifying and enhancing your daily life at home, the Djeffrey is a home service robot “butler” which not only performs various household functions, but actually learns and adapts to a homeowner’s personal preferences, making for the ideal home companion.
The Robby – The Robby is essentially a delivery robot designed specifically to meet the unique needs of the medical and nursing home (EHPAD) sectors with the goal of improving quality of care and optimizing healthcare operations. It features refrigerated and heated compartments and a state-of-the-art display screen, guaranteeing the safe delivery and quality of everyday meals and also the distribution of medication, while also facilitating effective communication with patients and caregivers.
The Foxee – Lastly, there’s also the Foxee, an intelligent robot which is particularly designed to meet the inventory needs of the retail and distribution industries. This robot is equipped with built-in sophisticated sensors and features computer vision technology, making it capable of monitoring inventories autonomously, as well as navigating storage shelves and units to provide improved operational efficiency, thus making it the ideal solution for precise tracking of product availability.
WHAT ARE AI ROBOTICS’ FUTURE PLANS FOR ITS NEW LINEUP OF AI-POWERED SERVICE ROBOTS?
AI Robotics recently showcased its new lineup of AI-powered service robots at CES 2024 with the aim of looking for suppliers and distributors in the US market.
Nevertheless, AI Robotic’s different AI-driven robots are already used in major restaurant chains such as McDonald’s and Burger King, as well as in other renowned corporations, including Peugeot, Auchan, Geodis, and Decathlon.
Moreover, according to AI Robotics’ Technical Director, Jason Poiblaud, the company would also like to work with governments from other countries, just like they currently do with the government of France, their home country, for whom their government has taken the responsibility of paying for half the price-tag of each individual AI robot so that their price-tags are significantly more affordable for people.
Lastly, Jason also expressed that the company would also be open to establishing new partnerships with other Artificial Intelligence companies worldwide.
Currently, the company has already achieved 800 pre-orders for different models of their AI-powered robots, for which their original AI robot, the Ugo has a set price-tag of 12.000€ (approximately $12.935), while their highest-end robot, the Stellar is priced at 30.000€ (approximately $32340).
