When it comes to setting up this stand-alone smart wireless bookshelf speaker, know that the Tivoli Audio Model Two Digital offers you a plug-and-play setup.
You just have to connect it to power and the speaker will be ready to start blasting your favorite tunes.
Keep in mind that while this smart speaker doesn’t have its own mobile app, the company (Tivoli Audio) recommends that you use either a Bluetooth-enabled device, the Google Home App, or the Apple AirPlay 2 App to control its smart functionalities, such as for playing content from wireless streaming services.
AUDIO SPECS & AUDIO QUALITY
For reproducing its immersive sound, the Tivoli Audio Model Two Digital comes equipped with a 20-Watt amplifier designed to work as a two-driver sound system, for which it combines a 3.5-inch full range 15-Watt speaker together with a 0.75-inch 5-Watt tweeter, along with a rear-facing bass reflex port integrated at its back side.
This particular driver combination makes the speaker capable of projecting an immersive sound with a superior audio quality that’s powerful, balanced and detailed all around, in which you can notice crisp and clear vocals, a deep bass that can easily fill the room, and any other sound detail in between.
The speaker’s two-driver sound system is rated to have a total 20 Watts of Output Power, a Frequency Range of 60 Hz to 20000 Hz, and a Sound Sensitivity (maximum SPL output) of 94 dB (+/- 3dB) at a listening distance of 1 meter.
It’s also worth noting that this smart wireless bookshelf speaker also has the ability to have its sound signature altered by simply changing its “display stance”. When set up across and flat, the speaker has a fuller and more solid sound signature, during which its lows come off noticeably stronger to the point that they somewhat overwhelm the highs and mids. However, when set up on either of its sides (i.e. vertically), that clarity on the lows significantly shifts to a more fine-tuned balance between the mids, highs, and vocals.
INTERFACE / CONTROL PANEL
For controlling the speaker’s operation, the Tivoli Audio Model Two Digital comes equipped with a simplified control panel that has a very user-friendly layout, eliminating the need for a screen while still making it easy and straightforward for users to configure it and control its different functions.
Located at the bottom right-side of the speaker’s front side, there’s a control knob that can be used for adjusting its volume and also for selecting between different audio sources.
In addition, the speaker also integrates an LED strip (installed directly behind its control knob) which intuitively displays the speaker’s current status, while also providing illumination for easy visibility.
Then, at the back side of the speaker, there’s also a 3.5 mm Aux Input for connecting it to other audio sources such as a guitar or a microphone, followed by a USB-A port that can be used for performing audio diagnostics, which is then followed by its Wi-Fi and Bluetooth pairing buttons, and finally the speaker’s dedicated power port.
CONNECTIVITY
As for the speaker’s wireless connectivity methods, know that the Model Two Digital features both Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi connectivity for streaming audio directly from other devices (like your smartphone) and also from app-based services.
