Below is our hands-on review of the Screwpop Toolkey II, where we’ll have a closer look at all the different functions this keychain multitool has to offer you.
DESIGN & SPECS
Kicking off with its size, the Screwpop Toolkey II is super compact, measuring just 2.5 inches long by 1.13 inches wide by 0.13 inches thick, making it small enough to easily fit inside your pocket or wallet. It’s also ultra-lightweight, weighing just 0.65 oz., and is also rated to be TSA-compliant, making it the perfect everyday-carry tool for those who travel often.
Furthermore, this keychain multitool is also designed with portability in mind. Not only does it feature a key-shaped design, but it also integrates a keychain hole at the top, allowing you to fit into your keyring or attach it to a small carabiner clip or a lanyard. Thanks to that, you can carry it with you anywhere you go.
More importantly, it also packs an ultra-durable all-metal construction, as its built of 420 Stainless Steel by using a state-of-the-art metal injection moulding (MIM) manufacturing process, and is then heat-treated, which gives it maximum hardness and outstanding durability so that it can last you a lifetime.
Its body is also coated with a matte finish, which helps ensure you always have an optimal grip.
FUNCTIONALITIES
Moving on to the 17 different useful functions that this EDC keychain multitool features.
Dual-Design Phillips / Flathead Magnetic Screwdriver & Ferrous-Tester
Starting at the front end of the Screwpop Toolkey II, there’s a dual-design screwdriver bit that works on both Phillips and flathead screws.
But what really makes this keychain multitool shine is the fact that its front tip also integrates a strong rare-earth Neodymium (N52) magnet, transforming its Phillips / flathead bit into an actual magnetic screwdriver.
What’s more is that its Neodymium (N52) magnet also makes the Toolkey II work as a ferrous tester. And since most standard keys are made of softer, non-ferrous materials, you can rest assured that they won’t stick to the multitool’s magnet.
Box Scoring Tip, Prybar & Can Opener
Its screwdriver front bit can also be used as a box scoring tip for opening up taped packages, as a prybar for opening small containers (such as metal boxes for storing essential camping items), and also as a can opener.
1/4″ Hex Bit Driver / Closed Wrench
Integrated directly after its screwdriver bit, the Screwpop Toolkey II also leverages a 1/4″ hex bit driver and 1/4″ closed wrench that can fit any standard 1/4″ hex bit shafts.
Wire Stripper & Tag Buster
Not only that, but the inner side of its 1/4″ hex bit driver is also sharp, so you can use that part of the Toolkey II as a wire stripper for stripping cables as well as a tag buster to easily remove plastic tags from clothing items.
Fine File & Coarse File
The keychain multitool also features a fine file edge at the top edge of its front-end that allows you to file and remove fine amounts of material from workpieces made of hard materials like metal, along with a coarse file edge that can be used for filing wood surfaces.
Semi-Serrated Blade
The Screwpop Toolkey II also comes equipped with a semi-serrated blade edge (located at the lower side of its body) that can cut through string and rope with ease.
English / Metric Rulers & Protractor
For performing small measurements either in inches or centimeters, this multitool also integrates both an imperial English ruler (1-inch) and a Metric ruler (2 cm) at the center of its back side.
Plus, it also features a built-in protractor at the top-right corner for measuring angles between 5º and 90º.
Rigging Screwdriver, Bike Spoke Key & Lotto Scratcher
In addition, the Toolkey II also features a rigging screwdriver (which doubles as a flathead screwdriver for large flathead screws), for which its center can be used as a bike spoke key and a wire bender.
The edge of its rigging screwdriver can be used as a lotto scratcher.
Valve Wrench
Its keychain hole can also be used as a valve wrench (i.e. an O2 wrench) for opening and shutting small valves.
Bottle Opener
Finally, this keychain multitool also integrates a built-in bottle opener for cracking open a few cold ones without any effort whatsoever, whether that’s bottled beers or sodas.
FINAL THOUGHTS
When accounting for all of its different functions, it’s safe to say that this keychain multitool is as versatile as they come.
